sharing your woes with your mom really helps.

*****

after two cups of coffee, constant popping of M&MS, done but still unsatisfied with creative essay, some quick scribbling for accounting tutorials and formulation of the BSC(oh-my-BSC!!), i'm ready to crash for the night..

but no.. im still not done with my work yet :((((

-------------

OMG writing that from scratch took me A HELL LOT OF EFFORT! referring to my dictionary and textbook.. but after writing this, i copied the entire text and tried to translate it to english but it's totally off! seriously, online translators suck.. haha

recently, derek and i dined at two pretty good japanese restaurants. about few weeks before Valentine's, we happened to drop by at Akashi. fantastic place, fantastic food. it is sushi done authentically. not any of those you see at sakae or ichiban, where the rice is more than the sushi filling. we wanted to go back there on Vday, but decided to try out Nara (奈良) at goldhill centre instead.

they had a Vday menu $168+++ per couple. the menu consisted of very good food.. puffer fish and other japanese delicacies. but i must admit that i'm not an adventurous eater, so we stuck to the plain boring dinner set menu instead. we also ordered california maki (excellent!) and a platter of sashimi to share between us. i had the tempura and eel set. the eel was simmered in a broth - very flavourful! i could just eat it with plain rice and still feel happy. the funny thing is that both the tempura prawns done at akashi and nara weren't too good but the tempura vegetables are superb!

very yummy and as for the sashimi platter.. since im not the adventurous eater, i only ate the salmon and left the rest for derek. ;)

pretty cosy place with nice ambience. we spent about $130 for two persons.

2008 has been a flurry of activities so far. just minutes into 2008, i made the quickest decision - 5 mins - to move out of hall. at that point, i wasn't sure whether my choice is correct or not, but i haven't thought much about that now either.  3 cores + spanish this sem yet i don't feel the happiness of the supposed slackness... took on a research assistant job with a marketing prof hahaha i surprise myself sometimes.

jan 18 - jay chou's world tour!

full attendance at his bday concert. we had pretty good seats and we were WOWED :)

february 2008

a very busy february for my family. whirlwind is really the word to describe it. hosted two gatherings at my place for the two extended families, customary visitings, bai-nian at derek's, farewell bbq for chelz's family (the food is very good!!) and i think cny mahjong has become a yearly affair at yvonne's place!

ok that's it for now. buenas tardes.
